How JUVÉDERM® Works
JUVÉDERM® contains hyaluronic acid, a protein that occurs naturally in the skin and joints, providing cushioning and lubrication. JUVÉDERM® can be injected below the surface of the skin, adding volume and improving its contour, and dramatically softening the deep creases that can form in the face after years of laughing, smiling, and other facial expressions. It can also be used to plump up the lips, elevate the cheeks, make the cheeks fuller, eliminate under eye circles, and achieve facial symmetry.
JUVÉDERM® is not a permanent solution, but it can provide up to six months of enhancement. Once the effects begin to fade, you may choose to undergo subsequent JUVÉDERM® treatments to restore skin volume.
Using Both JUVÉDERM® and BOTOX® Cosmetic
In general, JUVÉDERM® is best suited for deep creases, while fine lines and wrinkles are best treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport®.
